Large Acrylic Seascapes Yorkshire: Statement Coastal Art for Your Home

My speciality is large acrylic seascapes in Yorkshire: big, textured paintings that bring the feeling of the coast into your home. They come from a lifetime of loving the Yorkshire east coast, where I spent much of my childhood playing in rock pools and discovering new things.

Why paint big?

The sea is huge, and I want my paintings to feel that way too. A large canvas lets me capture the sweep of a bay, the height of the sky and the movement of the water, so standing in front of it feels like standing on the shore.

How I paint them

I work in layered acrylics with expressive brushwork and plenty of texture. The east coast light is hazy yet crisp, and I try to build that quality in layer by layer, so each painting has both softness and clarity. Variety is part of it too, from sandy bays and grassy clifftops to wild flowers along the path.

The feeling I want you to have

A big seascape should bring a sense of stillness. It is somewhere your eye can rest, and often somewhere your memory can wander too. Many of my customers choose a painting because it reminds them of a beach they loved as a child, which is exactly what the coast means to me.

Where a large seascape works

Large originals suit living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and open-plan spaces, where calm blues, sandy neutrals and soft pinks bring a restful feel. If your wall is smaller, prints are available in a range of sizes.
